Update on the Scrapbook Room

Here is the most recent picture of the desk. There is more things on it and some other things have been done to the room. This will be the last post about the office until it is completely finished. We have to finish painting the rest of the trim in the room, move in some furniture, put in some shelves and add my accents such as curtains and such. At least I am finally moved in to the office and its officially wonderful!
I love the decorative piece of trim on the edge of the desk. I saw it lying out in the garage because he had trimmed it off of a 2x4 so I had him put it on before we painted. I thought it was a nice little touch to add some pizzazz.

A new card

I made some blank stationary for me to use. I love them! I have a set of 10 of these cards. I plan on making more.

Card Holder

I found this tutorial on Amy's blog. She does some amazing crafts! Thanks for the great inspiration Amy! Her blog is: http://lynnskie3.blogspot.com/

Check it out!

I made two more of them. The others have a baby blue and a light pink flower. One is for mail and the other is for small items and notes that I either need to type or file. I plan on making more! Thank you so much Amy for the wonderful tutorial!

Note: the only items here that were CTMH was the white daisy cs, watermelon marker and silver brad.

Paper Bow

I found the instructions for this on splitcoaststampers.com
It's a great site for tutorials!
Check it out!

I used CTMH's "Silhouette" paper for this bow.

Yet another update on the scrap room....

Tons of progress has been made tonight.

The plexi-glass is in! Trim is being put on!

I've already started to tape off the trim so I can paint it. I'm super stoked!

The other picture is of the shelf that I store my inkpads and other random things on. It used to be wood, but I painted it white to match the decor of the room.

Update on the Scrapbook Room

Another update!
The desk is almost done. Tonight we anchored the cabinets, installed the top and covered the top with brown fabric. We're going to be getting the plexi-glass either tomorrow or Friday. I'm so excited! It's nearing completion!
We still have to add the trim and curtains to the desk, as well as the keyboard tray. (It will be on sliders.) I'm wondering if I should keep all of the pictures on the desk, or if I should cut some things out with my cricut and place them in there instead. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Update on the Scrapbook Room

I am so excited! It's nearly completed. Last night Kevin stayed up until 3 AM to get the floor done. It looks amazing! I have to finish priming the cabinets today and possibly start painting them. Its all coming together! *Keep in mind the base will be white.*

Update on the Scrapbook Room

I've been promised that the room will be done by SUNDAY! Flooring and all!

Update on the Scrapbook Room

So there have been a few changed made to the plans during the process of building the workstation. After Kevin finished one of the cabinets that hold up the counter, he realized that there would only be a 3 foot area for me to roll my chair around in between the L shaped desk area. We contemplated making everything a shorter depth, but it would have taken away from storage and workspace. So instead of an L shaped desk, I'm just making it a regular built-in along the back wall. So it will be 5 foot long, 2 foot depth. Now we need to figure out where my computer will go. I want to avoid putting my computer in the same space I'm going to scrap in. I need all of the room I can get for scrappin!

I completed painting our old microwave stand, so I have something to use for storage of my cricut and other accessories and such. The room is still a work in progress. I'm getting anxious and want it done. I've about HAD IT with working and attending school out of my living room next to a TV thats bigger than I am!

New Scrap Page!

I created this page for some good friends of ours that are expecting their baby next month. The do not know the sex of the baby, so I created the page unisex. I hope they like it!

Candle Craft

A really good friend of mine lost her father. In tribute to him I made her this candle.

Update on the Scrapbook Room

Okay, so the focus wall didn't go as planned. The tan didn't cure, so when I took off the painters tape, EVERYTHING came down with it. Then Kevin had to run a skim coat of drywall mud to make a new surface. What a disappointment. So we decided to just go with a solid color. So far we have all of the painting complete and have finalized the plans for the workstation and storage. Last night and today I did my adhesive vinyl decor, its chocolate brown, and looks amazing! I decided that my colors will be blues, bright green, chocolate brown and white. Let me know what you think of it so far!Kevin is building my work station for me. It will be an L shaped. If you look closely in some of the pictures you can see his pencil lines for where the desk and upper storage units will be. The desk will be white. I plan to make the counter for it by putting a chocolate brown fabric on top of the desk unit. Then I will scatter some random pictures on top and then top it off with plexi-glass. It will be a custom counter than I can change the pictures in when I want to. I will also be taking our old microwave stand and painting it white to match the room and using it for more storage. Its just sitting in the garage collecting dust, might as well put a use to it. The area of blank wall above my craft desk will have a nice fabric covered pin-up board that I am making by hand. I want to find a crazy patterned fabric with lime green and chocolate brown in it. Maybe something with circles, who knows. I do have one more quote to go on the wall but I have to wait until the desk is in place. The quote is: "A cluttered desk is a sign of genius." I LOVE IT!

Update on the Scrapbook Room

We have finally finished the drywall and are in the process of painting. Yes, I know it took forever. So much for our July 1st hopeful deadline. Haha! Last night I primed the walls and today I started on my focus wall.

After the paint is dry, I will be adding different sized vertical stripes in a light green. I will then add glitter (clear) to the green so the stripes sparkle. When it is complete I will take pictures. The rest of the walls will be a light blue. All of the furniture and storage will be white and I will have bright colored accents throughout the room. I also plan on putting up some vinyl lettering when I get my cricut for my birthday (the 28th). I can't wait until this room is complete! Its finally starting to look like a real room!

Not only will this be my scrapbooking room, but it will also be my home office. This is where I will work and do my homework. (I work and attend school from home.) This will be my haven where I can concentrate without having cartoons blaring in the background or have my 3 year old son annoy the heck out of me while i'm doing my homework.

I'll keep you all updated! Let's hope for a fast renovation!

Update

I have yet to scan and upload some artwork. As for the scrap room... it doesn't look any different than the previous post. Still all drywall. My husband hasn't had much time to work on it, and he's picky about his drywall, especially since I don't want to texture the walls. It'll get done someday!

Scrap Room==> a work in progress...

My husband and I have decided to turn the bathroom connected to our bedroom into a scrap room! It was a complete disaster when we bought the trailer. We are currently re-drywalling the room. As soon as Kevin is done with that, we can move onto paint! I am thinking, since this is going to be my own private haven, that I will go with a pale pink. I really like the color pink. HA! And I guess that way, I can make sure that its MY room, as was promised to me. Kevin plans to build cabinets and drawers for the room. I haven't yet decided if we should stain them, or paint them. Either way, they'll look nice. My computer will also be going in here, so we have to make sure that it is next to the ONLY outlet in the room. If we would have been thinking before we put the new drywall up, we should have put in more outlets. Oh well, I'll deal. There will also be paper storage racks for me to store all of my cardstock and decorative papers (without them getting bent). I'm so stoked! We're all sick of me having to live my scrapbooking life at the kitchen table out of totes! When I get some great plans drawn up, I'll scan them.

New Technique!

There is a new technique published in the tutorials section...
FAUX LEATHER!

Cards

A fellow CTMH consultant informed us of some horrible news that involved a friend's family and a tornado. What we were told is too devastating to even write about. To help the family out, the consultant asked that we all create some cards for the family to use as "Thank You's" to the people helping them through this tragedy. You can view them in my slideshow at the bottom of the page. (There were tons more, but mainly copies of what you see here.) If you would like to know what papers, ribbon, etc. that I used, please contact me.

Birthday Card

Materials:
More to Adore b&t duos
June stamp of the month "With Love"
Chocolate ink
April stamp of the month "Express Postage"
Cocoa ribbon

All products are CTMH unless stated otherwise. I also used the leather technique. When I complete one, I'll post a tutorial.

Personal Planner

I ordered this planner (weekly 9"x9") from CTMH and could not for the life of me think of what to do with it. It was completely blank and needed some TLC. When I saw the "More to Adore" paper listed by CTMH, I had to order it. I also loved the June stamp of the month, "With Love", so I ordered that as well. Eventually, my creation made itself.

Materials:
9"x9" Weekly Calendar
More to Adore level 2 (CTMH)
"With Love" June stamp of the month (CTMH)
Chocolate ink (CTMH)
colored pencils
Chocolate bigger brads (CTMH)
Edge distresser
Brown distressing ink (CTMH)

Getting started...

I have decided that now is the time. The time to create a blog to showcase everything that my creativity has to offer. Through scrapbooking, stamping, card making and other crafts I have been able to bring myself to a type of calm. Being a wife, a mother of two, a full-time student; it puts a strain on my mind and body. My creativity allows me to get some much needed resting and alone time. Throughout this blog, I will have pictures and information on different crafts that I have completed, tutorials, information about my business and more. Feel free to contact me with any suggestions or something that you'd like to see posted.
